Puppy Foundation Class

This comprehensive training class is based indoors and is carefully structured to help you and your puppy learn all of the foundation skills and behaviours that you will need to get you started on a happy life together. There is no prior training required to attend this class as it is a starter class.

Our classes are kept to a small size with a maximum of 4 or 5 dogs to ensure that you have enough space to feel comfortable and enough support from the trainer to succeed.

 

Learn to work with your dog to maximum effect and to have your pup enjoy working with you to develop their focus and obedience, as well as teaching them how to settle and learning some fun tricks and games to build your relationship.

 

As socialisation is such an important part of raising a puppy, you'll also learn the best way to do this and practise polite greetings. This is on top of the fact that your puppy will be learning to listen to you when other dogs and people are around.

 

The topics taught in this class include:

🐶 Puppy obedience (Sit//Down/Stay)

🐶 Lead walking foundations – how to walk nicely on lead

🐶 Getting started with a solid recall – get your puppy to come back when called

🐶 Teaching your puppy impulse control

🐶 Manners around food including ‘leave it’

🐶 Understanding your puppy’s behaviour and body language

🐶 Manners around people and dogs

🐶 Simple tricks and fun focus games to get your puppy to engage with you easily

🐶 Socialisation and polite greetings

 

Pre-requisites: - no prior training is required - all puppies must have completed their vaccinations to attend.

 

This is a low-pressure, relaxed, fun class with no formal assessment, so owners don’t need to worry about that. We just want you and your dog to build a great relationship through relaxed and fun training sessions, whilst learning all the puppy foundations you'll need.

 

Once you have learned these valuable and essential skills, you and your puppy will be presented with a Puppy Foundation completion certificate and will be invited to join our Level One class where you can continue to build on these new skills and progress to the next level in your training.

 

Classes can be booked online and payment is accepted via debit/credit card, Paypal and Klarna. We cannot refund or replace missed sessions, so please ensure you can attend all the session dates before booking.
