Lucy - Dog Trainer | Pawsitive Pooches Dog Training and Behaviour

Lucy (BSc, ADTB, MISAP, IACE, PPG)

Founder, Owner and Head trainer of Pawsitive Pooches

Lucy has 12 years experience working with dogs, from competing with her own dogs in various dog sports, fostering rescue dogs, walking rescue dogs and as a professional dog walker (9 years self employed). She currently owns 7 dogs of varying ages, 2 malinois, 2 cocker spaniels, 1 staffy and 2 collies.

She is a full member of the PPG (Pet Professional Guild- an organisation for force-free training) the 'National Register of Dog Trainers and Behaviourists', the 'Institute for Animal Care Education' and the 'International Society for Animal Professionals' and has current qualifications with the ADTB, up to Gold level, as well as reading in excess of 100's of books in relation to dog training, behaviour, psychology and physiology. Her current degree is for psychology and criminology and she is  completing an Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour (Canine).

To date Lucy has trained numerous dogs of her own and 1000's of dogs and their handlers for a variety of issues. She also has 6 years experience of working on behalf of a high profile animal welfare charity, so has extremely good working knowledge of the Animal Welfare Act.

These experiences and extensive research and involvement with all things animal, throughout the last 10 years have given Lucy extensive knowledge about pet care, particularly dog training and behaviour. This knowledge is modern and she is  always educating herself on the most recent training methods, animal care and handling.

Lindsey -  - Dog Trainer & Class Instructor at Pawsitive Pooches Dog Training & Behaviour

Lindsey (BSc Hons, PGCE, ADTB, PPG, PPN)

Trainer and Class Instructor

Lindsey runs most of our classes and workshops and offers 1-1 training in a wide range of areas. She holds a BSc in Zoology and Animal Behaviour and a Masters Level PGCE in Primary Teaching as an Early Years specialist, including over 200 hours of additional professional development in learning science and animal behaviour, with her qualifications spanning over 20 years.

She is now our puppy specialist, separation anxiety expert and class instructor and has completed multiple training courses. Lindsey is a fully approved instructor with the Association of Dog Training and Behaviour (ADTB). She has received distinctions for a Canine Behaviour Training Diploma and a diploma in Dog Training. 

A registered member of the Pet Professional Guild and Pet Professional Network, and a force-free trainer committed to the use of modern, scientific training methods, Lindsey is a qualified teacher, holds full DBS certification and is trained in workplace, paediatric and canine first aid. She currently shares her life with Violet and Dove, both working cocker spaniels.

Additional Support and Training

Nicola

Nicola occasionally runs ringcraft classes for us. She is a registered veterinary nurse (RVN) with 20 years experience in the field and has a certificate in canine hydrotherapy with Hawksmoore and a Diploma in Canine Behaviour and Training. She also runs canine first aid classes for pet owners and those in the canine care industry, as well as micro-chipping services.

She has been involved with showing dogs for over 20 years and has owned a few show champions a long with some that have had cc and rcc. She has trained some of her own dogs in gundog work and agility. She currently has 2 red and white setters, a border collie and a Hungarian Vizsla.
